Bank of Russia backs round-the-clock FSB access to private keys at digital depositories
- —Regulator rejected the banking association's bid to block FSB access to private keys
- —From March 1, 2027, crypto firms must provide FSB remote access through SORM
- —Crypto risk limit fixed at 1% of capital with a 1,250% risk coefficient
- —Requests to delay to 2028 and to allow crypto collateral at a 50% haircut were denied
Why it matters: FSB access to private keys undermines the custody model and client confidentiality at Russian crypto services.
