Bank of Korea to receive monthly crypto balance reports from exchanges
- —Cross-border crypto transfers reported daily by 11 a.m. the next day
- —Reports include resident registration numbers, amounts and counterparties
- —Monthly balance reports cover anyone who moved crypto abroad since July 19, 2024
- —1.27 million users made such transfers between July 2024 and September 2025
Why it matters: Tighter FX surveillance could curb cross-border crypto activity and add pressure on Korean exchanges.
