Thailand's SEC proposes $151,000 daily stablecoin transfer limit
- —The 5 million baht (~$151,000) daily limit applies separately to incoming and outgoing transfers
- —Transfers are allowed only between wallets confirmed to belong to the same client
- —Broker OTC trades — minimum 3 million baht (~$91,000) with price disclosure
- —Transfers between licensed Thai operators are exempt from the limit if the Travel Rule is followed
Why it matters: Thailand is tightening stablecoin controls, which could reduce P2P transfer volumes and set an example for other Asian regulators.
