Aztec relaunches zk.money private payments wallet after three years
- —Deposits, payments and withdrawals are capped at $2,500 each, with a shared $50,000 daily deposit limit
- —A deposit costs 35 cents plus Ethereum fees, while a withdrawal costs 20 cents
- —Deposit and withdrawal addresses are screened under a sanctions policy; the software has not been fully audited
- —The original zk.money served over 75,000 wallets and processed more than $100 million before shutting down in 2024
Why it matters: Private payments on Ethereum are back in a usable form, but caps and unaudited code limit adoption for now.
