Solana prepares v1 transaction format with 4,096-byte limit
- —Transaction size limit will rise from 1,232 to 4,096 bytes, a 3.3x increase
- —Proposal SIMD-0296 keeps legacy and v0 transactions working
- —The new format targets ZK proofs, BLS signatures and multisigs
- —v1 does not use address lookup tables, unlike the v0 format
Why it matters: A larger transaction size removes some constraints for complex Solana applications but does not automatically create demand for SOL.
