Zcash NU7 upgrade cuts block time from 75 to 25 seconds
- —NU7 activates at block height 3,543,405, as specified in ZIP 259
- —Block time falls from 75 to 25 seconds; daily blocks rise from 1,152 to 3,456
- —Version 4 transactions and Sprout pool balances become invalid after the upgrade
- —ZIP 235 removes 60% of fees from circulation, later returned via block issuance
Why it matters: ZEC holders and node operators must upgrade their software before activation or old wallets and transactions will stop working.
