AI agent finds deleted crypto seed phrase in iPhone cache

  • —More than 146,000 deleted files from 2021–2025 were found in the iPhone PhotoData/Thumbnails folder
  • —Among them were a crypto wallet seed phrase photo, a passport image and banking app screenshots
  • —On Android the agent found 14,000 front-camera frames with timestamps and geolocation
  • —Critics note the /data/system path requires root access and call for independent verification
Why it matters: Phone caches can retain secrets like seed phrases far longer than users expect, a direct risk to wallet funds.
