Ethereum Name Service Queues Upgrade That Closes Old Registry to New Names

  • —The old ENS registry will stop accepting new name registrations after the upgrade
  • —The migration will have no deadline and will be irreversible
  • —Some names are excluded from automatic reservations in the new system
Why it matters: The upgrade affects every ENS name holder: the terms and timing of the migration determine whether they keep control of their names.
