Ethereum patches Glamsterdam bug that could have diverted staking deposits to builders
- —The bug arose when a builder and validator shared a public key, crediting both deposits to the builder
- —The fix was rejected Oct. 19 and merged after further review and tests on Oct. 23
- —New rules sort pending deposits by withdrawal credentials, keeping validator funds with validators
- —Glamsterdam's Oct. 26 launch on the Hoodi testnet was postponed; no mainnet date is set
Why it matters: The flaw could have affected Lido, Origin and Rocket Pool; client teams must ship the fix before mainnet.
