Ledger Atom adds hardware privacy switch that cuts camera and mic power
- —The switch cuts power to the camera and microphone at the circuit level
- —No app or remote attacker can restore power while the switch is off
- —A Secure Bar on the device shows the switch position
- —In Secure Mode the camera and mic stay unpowered in any switch position
Why it matters: Hardware-level sensor cutoffs close a camera and microphone attack vector, a selling point for holders of large crypto balances.
