Galaxy Research spots 28 mystery poems on the Bitcoin blockchain
- —28 messages in 12 days, including 26 duplicates of one poem
- —103-byte OP_RETURN outputs exceed the previous 83-byte relay limit
- —Mining fees totaled 8,015 satoshis; a one-time 100,000-satoshi service fee on Oct. 19
- —Theories: faked deposit metrics, an integration test, or an autonomous AI agent
Why it matters: The case shows how cheaply OP_RETURN can be used to write to Bitcoin and distort custodial platform metrics.
