Glassnode: Bitcoin sell pressure eases back to normal levels

  • —On Oct. 4 short-term holders accounted for 86% of BTC flowing to exchanges, a one-year high
  • —That share fell to about 45% by Oct. 18, with the seven-day average near 40%
  • —Bitcoin slid from roughly $86,500 on Oct. 4 to about $81,350, a drop of nearly 6%
  • —US bitcoin funds took in $527 million on Oct. 18 after more than €200 million in outflows the prior week
Why it matters: Fading profit-taking removes a key drag on price, but a durable recovery still needs spot buyers to return.
