Payward to Launch Hyperliquid Perpetual Futures for U.S. Clients
- —Contracts will execute on the Hyperliquid blockchain but under the control of Payward entities
- —Bitnomial Exchange has held DCM status since April 2020, and its clearinghouse has held DCO status since December 2023
- —Payward acquired Bitnomial for up to $550 million, with the deal closing on May 1
- —Hyperliquid processed more than $236 billion in perpetual futures volume over 30 days
Why it matters: The arrangement tests a model in which DeFi infrastructure operates under the regulated U.S. derivatives market, potentially opening the door for other on-chain protocols.
