Pi Network Sets October 16 Mainnet Upgrade to Protocol 28

  • —Mainnet upgrade to Protocol 28 is scheduled for October 16
  • —Protocol 28 improves handling of delayed transaction data and grouped smart-contract updates
  • —No date set for OUSD availability in Pi Wallet and no reward rules published
  • —PI will remain the ecosystem's primary cryptocurrency, with stablecoins playing a narrower role
Why it matters: Whether the upgrade runs smoothly and OUSD launches will determine if Pi's ecosystem gains real payment services and demand for PI.
