NEAR adds post-quantum ML-DSA-65 key for user accounts
- —ML-DSA-65 key can be added to an existing account under proposal NEP-645
- —Migration is voluntary; coins and account data stay in place
- —Feature shipped in nearcore 2.13; legacy keys and wallets keep working
- —Validator keys still use existing cryptography, so the network is not fully quantum-resistant
Why it matters: NEAR is among the first major networks to offer post-quantum protection without account migration, though adoption depends on users opting in.
