Bitcoin Core merges privacy fix into v32 branch as v31 backport stays open
- —The fix reached the main development branch on Sept. 25 and 32.x on Oct. 1
- —The 31.x backport was approved by reviewer vasild on Oct. 6 with a 31.2 milestone
- —Private broadcast is disabled by default and marked experimental
- —The official download page still lists 31.1 as the latest version
Why it matters: The flaw could let an observer link private-broadcast activity to ordinary node connections, weakening anonymity for users who opt in.
