Bitcoin Core 32.0 to launch October 10: 60% of nodes will lose support
- —Release candidate v32.0rc1 appeared September 14, final tag expected October 10
- —The 29.x series (8,629 nodes, 33.31%) will lose support after 32.0 is released
- —28.x and older (7,017 nodes, 27.09%) have been unsupported since April 19, 2026
- —Only the 30.x, 31.x, and 32.x series will remain supported
Why it matters: Node operators should upgrade to 31.x before October 10, or they will be left without security fixes.
